In 1994 the community of Riverview came together to build the All World Super Play Park for Frank L. Bowser Elementary School. It was by far one of the most unique playgrounds in Atlantic Canada; little did they know at the time that it would become an iconic structure in our community.
|FROM HUMBLE BEGINNINGS||TO ICONIC STRUCTURE|
Time has taken its toll on the play park and it needs to be replaced. The FLB Playground Project has polled the students, teachers, parents, and community; overwhelmingly there is a desire to keep the same feel to the play park … and that is exactly what we intend to do. In addition to the same feel, we are also looking to add elements of accessibility; the play park will be for children of all abilities.
FUNDRAISING – CHASE THE ACE
Our first fundraising initiative is a partnership with the Riverview Lions Club to raise money via a Chase the Ace lottery. It will commence on Sunday September 10th, 2017 and run for 52 weeks or until the Ace of Spades is drawn.
1 for $2.00 / 3 for $5.00 / 7 for $10.00 / 15 for $20.00
The draw will take place at 8:15pm every Sunday at the Riverview Lions Club located at 701 Coverdale Rd. in Riverview. You do not need to be present to win. However, if you are not present a delegate will be appointed to select a card on your behalf.
If your ticket number is drawn you automatically win the consolation prize. The amount won is 20% of that week’s ticket sales. In addition, you have the opportunity to pick a card from a standard deck of cards. If you choose the Ace of Spades you win the jackpot.
The Chase the Ace jackpot is progressive; the more ticket sales, the higher the prize. The initial jackpot will be a minimum of $5,000. Each week 30% of the ticket sales will be added to the jackpot. The jackpot will continue to grow until there is a winner.
